Blueprint by Bryan Johnson: Products I Actually Use

An honest look at the Blueprint supplement line from someone who uses it daily

Who Is Bryan Johnson and What Is Blueprint?

Bryan Johnson is a tech entrepreneur who sold his company Braintree to PayPal for $800 million in 2013. He could have retired. Instead, he became obsessed with reversing his biological age and built an entire protocol around it called Project Blueprint.

The premise is straightforward: measure everything, follow the data, and eliminate as many variables as possible. He spends around $2 million a year on his own health and shares everything publicly — his diet, his results, his supplement stack.

Blueprint is the product line that came out of that protocol. These are not supplements he designed to sell. They are the actual formulations he uses himself, made available to the public. That is what drew me to them in the first place.

His audience tends to be health-focused, research-oriented people who already care about what they put in their bodies. If you are the kind of person who owns a cold press juicer and thinks about nutrient density, you will probably find his approach interesting even if you do not follow it to the letter.

About the Name Changes

If you have been searching for Blueprint products and found different names, that is not a coincidence. Johnson has renamed two of his most popular products since launch.

Snake Oil became Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The original name was intentionally provocative — Johnson liked the irony of calling a genuinely high-quality product by a name associated with health scams. It landed differently than he expected, so he switched to something clearer.

Nutty Pudding became Longevity Protein. The original Nutty Pudding was a specific recipe Johnson shared publicly — a blend of nuts, seeds, and berries he ate every morning. Blueprint eventually formalized it into a protein powder format and gave it a name that better reflected what it actually is.

The formulations behind both products are consistent with what Johnson has used in his own protocol. The names changed, the products did not.

Blueprint Products I Use and Recommend

These are the four Blueprint products I have used personally. I am not recommending anything I have not tried myself.

Best Starting Point

Blueprint Extra Virgin Olive Oil (formerly Snake Oil)

  • High-polyphenol extra virgin olive oil
  • Third-party tested for purity and polyphenol content
  • Previously sold under the name Snake Oil
  • Used daily by Bryan Johnson as a cornerstone of his protocol

This is the product that got me started with Blueprint. The name change from Snake Oil to Extra Virgin Olive Oil was deliberate — Johnson originally named it Snake Oil as a nod to the long history of health product skepticism, but it confused too many people. The product itself did not change.

What sets it apart from grocery store olive oil is the polyphenol content. Most commercial olive oils lose much of their polyphenols through poor harvesting and processing. Blueprint’s version is tested and verified. I use it on salads, drizzle it over food after cooking, and occasionally take a small pour straight. It has a noticeably peppery, robust flavor that lower-quality oils do not have.

If you are only going to try one Blueprint product, this is probably the easiest entry point.

Blueprint Longevity Protein (formerly Nutty Pudding)

  • Chocolate flavor, plant-based protein blend
  • Designed as a complete meal, not just a protein supplement
  • Previously called Nutty Pudding when sold as a ready-to-eat product
  • Includes added nutrients beyond standard protein powders

The name change here has a bit more history behind it. Nutty Pudding started as a pre-made pudding-style meal that Johnson ate every morning — macadamia nuts, berries, seeds, and a few other ingredients blended together. The Longevity Protein is the evolved version: a chocolate plant-based protein powder formulated to hit similar nutritional targets in a more convenient format.

I use the chocolate version. It mixes well, does not have the chalky texture that a lot of plant proteins do, and keeps me full. I typically have it mid-morning after my juice. It is more than just a protein powder — it is formulated with the broader nutritional picture in mind, which aligns with how Johnson approaches his own meals.

If you are used to eating clean and want something that complements a juicing routine rather than replacing it, this fits well.

Blueprint Longevity Mix – Blood Orange

  • Blood orange flavor, dissolves easily in water
  • Packed with vitamins, minerals, and longevity-focused compounds
  • Designed to cover nutritional gaps in a whole-food diet
  • Not a multivitamin — formulated specifically around Johnson's protocol

This is the one I use most consistently. I mix it into water in the morning and it has become part of my daily routine the same way my green juice has. The blood orange flavor is genuinely good — not overly sweet, not artificial tasting.

The Longevity Mix is not a standard multivitamin. It is built around the specific compounds Johnson prioritizes in his own protocol, things like spermidine, fisetin, and other compounds that do not show up in typical supplements. Whether you are deep into longevity research or just want a solid daily drink that covers your bases, this one earns its place.

It pairs naturally with juicing because you are already in the habit of drinking something nutritious in the morning. This just adds another layer.

Simple and Versatile

bryan johnson blueprint cocoa powder

Blueprint Cocoa Powder

  • High-flavanol cocoa powder
  • Tested for heavy metals and purity
  • Used by Johnson daily in his protocol
  • Works in smoothies, protein shakes, oatmeal, and baking

Most commercial cocoa powders are processed in ways that strip out the flavanols — the compounds that give cocoa its actual health benefits. Blueprint’s cocoa is tested for flavanol content and heavy metals, which is not something most brands bother with.

I add it to my Longevity Protein shake most mornings and occasionally mix it into oatmeal. It has a rich, deep cocoa flavor without any added sugar or fillers. It is one of the more affordable Blueprint products and an easy addition if you are already buying other items and want to hit that $150 threshold for the $25 discount.

Not complicated, but it earns its spot in the lineup.

How Blueprint Fits Alongside a Juicing Routine

If you already juice regularly, you are ahead of most people when it comes to nutrient density. Cold press juice from a Nama or similar machine gives you a concentrated dose of vitamins and enzymes from whole produce. That is a strong foundation.

What Blueprint products do is fill in the gaps that whole food and juice do not always cover — specific compounds, tested polyphenol levels, and formulations built around longevity research rather than general wellness trends.

I do not think of them as replacements for real food. I think of them the same way I think about my juicer: a tool that makes it easier to do something I already believe in. My morning routine is green juice first, Longevity Mix in water alongside it, and Longevity Protein mid-morning. The olive oil goes on food throughout the day. The cocoa powder ends up in my protein shake.

None of it feels forced because it all points in the same direction. If you are already invested in what you eat and drink, Blueprint products fit naturally into that mindset.
